Terms of use

These terms govern use of RoleOctopus, a service operated by Mojica Consulting LLC for defining, discovering, distributing, and responding to opportunities. By creating an account or using an account feature, you agree to these terms. If you use RoleOctopus for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization.

Accounts and eligibility

You must provide accurate information, keep sign-in methods secure, and promptly report suspected misuse. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. One person may not impersonate another person or organization.

Candidate and organization responsibilities

Candidates control their profile visibility and must have the right to share submitted content. Employers and recruiters must describe real opportunities accurately, comply with employment, privacy, anti-discrimination, and communications laws, and use candidate information only for the opportunity or contact the candidate has authorized. RoleOctopus does not employ candidates, act as an employer of record, or make hiring decisions.

Applications and contact

An application authorizes the receiving organization to view the contact information and application details submitted for that opportunity. An expression of employer interest does not reveal private contact information unless the candidate accepts it. Members remain responsible for their communications, screening, interviews, offers, and agreements.

Public distribution and paid reach

Content marked as a public preview may be distributed on RoleOctopus and participating state or business-focused .how sites. Paid placement increases clearly labeled visibility for the purchased location, network, and period. It does not certify a candidate or employer, alter eligibility, guarantee impressions or responses, or affect anyone’s ability to apply.

Billing

Prices and campaign terms are shown before checkout. Payments are processed through the connected Stripe merchant, Ann Arbor Apps LLC, which may appear on transaction records. One-time placements expire at the end of the purchased period. Recurring recruiter workspaces renew at the disclosed interval until canceled through the billing portal. Cancellation stops a future renewal and does not retroactively refund a completed billing period. Except where law requires otherwise, used or active placement periods are non-refundable; contact support if a purchased feature was not delivered as described.

Prohibited use

You may not scrape or resell profiles; send abusive or deceptive outreach; publish false, illegal, discriminatory, or infringing content; bypass visibility or access controls; probe or disrupt the service; introduce malicious code; or use personal information outside the purpose for which it was shared.

Content and service rights

You retain ownership of content you submit. You give RoleOctopus a non-exclusive license to host, process, format, and distribute that content only as needed to operate the service and honor your visibility and campaign choices. RoleOctopus’s software, character, branding, and service design remain the property of their respective owners.

Enforcement and availability

We may remove content, limit distribution, suspend an account, or preserve records when reasonably necessary to protect people, enforce these terms, address fraud or security, or comply with law. We may modify or discontinue features and will use reasonable efforts to communicate material changes. The service is provided on an “as available” basis without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation, hiring outcomes, candidate fit, or campaign results.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RoleOctopus and Mojica Consulting LLC are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for decisions and conduct between members. Our aggregate liability arising from the service will not exceed the amount you paid RoleOctopus during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where applicable law does not allow them.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version, and material changes will be communicated in the service or through verified account contact information. Questions and notices can be submitted through RoleOctopus support.
